The City of Ala Mhigo once had a prodigious army. Of these formidable soldiers, Lancers and monks were the most feared of rival city-states.
Members of the Fist of Rhalgr, a cult to the god of destruction whom they seek to approach, the monks have developed combat techniques specific to their order.
Their movements in the middle of a fight are perhaps akin to dance steps,
but they are indeed blows of a power at the limit of the conceivable
that they wear, listening to their chakras.
I will present here two three tips of the Monk, the skills and their animations. I'm not going to be a class guide here, it's way too early for that!
Briefly the Moine is the evolution of Pugilist, he therefore inherits all his skills, he needs the Master of Hast at level 15 to be unlocked and he can also use the techniques of Marauder.
The Monk adapts very well to all situations, he is very fun to play and can defend himself, but be careful, his armor is still "light". It has area-of-effect techniques, its Actions require little TP, and its overall cooldown (GCD) is very low.
The Monk is also difficult to master correctly, his skills are weak (be careful, this does not mean that he does not do any damage, they are "weak" but are linked "at lightning speed") and he is VERY dependent on its stance during the fighting.
The Monk is based on a combat posture system: the posture of the Opo-Opo, that of Raptor and that of Coeurl. Actions that can be used in Opo-Opo are possible without being in this position, but they will not activate their additional effect. Coeurl's Form skills always grant buff "Lightning speed".
Pugilist
Now let's take a look at the techniques of the Pugilist.
Volley of Blows is your combo initiator and basic attack for a very long time. It is often used to start all the combos of the Pugilist and the Monk and as you can see, if the technique is used in posture of the Raptor and from behind, it automatically delivers a critical hit.
Please note that the Direct Punch bonus does not offer improvements on your critics, but only on the hit itself.
This technique greatly helps in to survive and to be able to launch Haymaker much more easily.
Here is the first technique that allows you to activate Lightning speed. Also note the increased damage if the attack is made from the side.
A technique that you might like! As you can see, she can be used by almost any class in the game and unlocks early on, but will never be as powerful as on the Monk.
A very useful technique, especially in solo. It is, as you can imagine, a little more complicated to place in court.
I think that speaks for itself, the improvement is less in the other classes of course but remains honorable.
Death Touch unlocks by quête, it hurts but only on the length. In the meantime, your duty will be that the monster is permanently afflicted.
Twin Snakes is one of the Pugilist and Monk's most useful techniques, but it's one that will complicate your life a little. Indeed, from the moment you unlock it, in each fight your duty will be to keep its improvement active at all times.
Fists of Earth should still be active on your Pugilist or Monk until Fists of Fire is unlocked.
Destroyer Strike is the second ability to start combos, but as you can see its potency is very low. While in Raptor Stance, she inflicts Silence, but for only a small second, so it's very difficult to use that silence.
This is another technique that will complicate your life a little more from now on. The periodic damage that Demolition places must at all costs be kept on the monster at all times.
Improved running speed, pretty good for moving quickly.
A stunner (stun in the lingo), good attack power and he's off GCD. Small trick in solo: it allows you to place attacks from the side, or even from the back quite easily.
A technique that greatly helps healers. Don't hesitate to help those who keep you alive.
An area effect attack with good power, it is out of GCD, swing there as often as possible (well, avoid waking up enemies too: p).
To put it simply, it's as if all the postures were activated for 10s. If you spam Destroyer's Strike for example, silence will be cast every time. It also allows you, for example, to have the maximum lightning speed buff faster.
Moine
Now the unique techniques of the Monk in himself.
Rockbreaker is a good AoE technique. Do not underestimate it: well placed, it is extremely useful in certain fights (I am thinking of Garuda for example). She is also visually pretty.
A pretty technique to see, does good damage, stuns and brings you closer to the target. Of course, it is possible with imagination to find other uses for it;).
Fists of Fire increases your damage, you are there to inflict a maximum that is good. But do not forget to activate Fists of Earth if needed.
This technique will not earn you the "DPS meter", but it is still extremely useful. For example, it is easier and faster to kick a breastplate with Lightning Strike than with a combo optimized for DPS.
The seventh Chakra, the third technique that allows you to start combos. Dragon's Lock almost completely replaces Swing Vol. It hurts more and reduces the resistance of enemies.
Conclusion
Here is as you will have it can be understood for the Monk and the Pugilist, the position in combat is very important, it is also necessary to permanently keep alterations and improvements to optimize your class.
Above all, remember one thing, yes you are a damage class, but you have other tools that might do less damage than following the perfect Monk cycle and will greatly help your party. And above all, do you have fun with the class?
So let's see, the monks and the Fist of Rhalgr ... Ah yes! Mhigois monks are men and women who train in the service of Rhalgr, the God of destruction. His cult in Ala Mhigo dates back several centuries. Widargelt is one of them. The monks believe that they can approach the Destroyer spiritually by strengthening their body and mind.
Their concentration is so developed that they are able to harness the ether of their body to deliver devastating attacks. This is what these uneducated people call “spiritual energy”, but it is ether, pure and simple!
In short. These monks focused more and more on fighting techniques, as wars were frequent in the Gyr Abania region at the time, and they needed to be able to defend themselves and their temples. However, over time, they became more and more involved in the country's struggles for influence. The mhigois lords began to be wary of these warriors who fought in the name of a God and did not hesitate to make use of force. They ended up concluding that it was better to get rid of allies than enemies,
and decided to use them.
The royal family converted to the cult of Rhalgr, and the monks became the protective arm of the country. Their political influence peaked at this time. That's about all I can tell you about the origin of Monks and Rhalgr's Fist.
