FFXIV currently has no less than 74 different Emotes! Emotes can also be used standing, seated or even on the back of Chocobo, with more or less different animations. You can even combine several.
- Example:
/sit - your character sits down.
Once seated you can use for example the Doze Emote
/ somnoler - Your character remains seated and begins to doze off.
Here is the list of emotes in alphabetical order:

/agreement - Your character nods.
/To welcome - Your character welcomes you.
/ appease - Your person is making signs of appeasement.
/applaud - Your person applauds.
/goodbye - Your character is waving.

/ sulk - Your person is sulking.

/shock - Your character looks shocked.
/console - Your character makes signs of consolation.

/dance - Your character starts to dance.
/disappointment - Your character shows his disappointment.
/spite - Your character is pissed off.
/despair - Your character is desperate.
/doubt - Your character doubts.

/to encourage - Your character gives encouragement.

The following Emotes are obtained under special conditions:
- / hi order - Obtained while in the Order of the Two Vipers.
- / salutdesimmortels - Obtained while in the Order of the Immortals.
- /salutdumaelstrom - Obtained while in Order of the Maelstrom.
The following emotes change your facial expression. The effect remains until you activate another expression:
- / visagearrogant - Make your character look arrogant.
- / confident face - Make your character look confident.
- / fearful face - Make your character look fearful.
- / sleeping face - Make your character look sleepy.
- / worried face - Make your character look worried.
- / dumbfounded - Makes your character look taken aback.
- / face - Make your character look sad.
- / face - Make your character look sullen.
- / visagenormal - This is your character's default emotion.
- / visageradieux - Make your character look radiant (big smile).
- / suffocating face - Makes your character wince in pain.
- /smiling face - Make your character smile.
- / face amazed - Make your character look amazed.
