He climbs the ranks as he goes and sees himself leading the elite troop of the Lances of Waystress which has taken the attackers by surprise. Emeric himself killed the enemy leader Durcorach.
- He ascends the throne of Waystead in the year 2E 563 because his father dies of the Knahataine Plague.
- He allows himself to refuse the hand of Princess Rayelle, daughter of King Ranser de Taillemont attracting the latter's wrath and at the same time refusing the princess' dowry. This would have made it possible to establish a very luxurious maritime trade between the two regions.
- Émeric decides to marry Princess Maraya, daughter of King Fahara'jad. He married in the spring of 566.
- In the month of Vifazur 2E 566, Ranser tries to have him assassinated but Emeric, who expected it, easily repels the enemies with his close guard and the powerful Scalpel of Orichalcum, an enchanted sword endowed with many virtues.
