Do you have a Nintendo Switch console and are looking for a cute game to share with your child aged 3 and over? So look no further, here is Qbics Paint, funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Spain:
The game is played entirely on the touch screen, the joysticks remain attached to the screen and the finger takes action. And it all starts with a rabbit ... Note that I tested this game with my 6 and a half year old son, the target audience.
There is not much choice, we click on the first animal and the game explains what to do: destroy the small white squares, but above all do not touch the shape hidden below!
In addition to the colorful beast inside, letters are hidden, those composing the word. RABBIT. Finally, in English on the other hand therefore RABBBIT. It would be nice if the option was possible to change the language, although since these are simple words, it is also the opportunity to make the child acquire some vocabulary. Each time you touch the shape by mistake, it changes color from initial blue to red.
And it is not as obvious as it seems! Fortunately it is possible to zoom in and out for the small hidden blocks.
Then it's time to move on to coloring! About twenty colors are available.
With a model that we can follow ... or not!
The last step is to take a photo of the animal with a photo in the background. It is a pity that the game does not allow you to import your own photos to put it in its daily environment rather than on photos that are certainly nice, but which do not represent anything for the child. Our rabbit thus went to the beach.
Then we discovered a dog and a cat!
In all, over 80 cute models are just waiting to pop out of their blocks to be colorful and staged. There are 8 themes in all: farm animals, zoo animals, toys, transport, nature, people, food, medieval. There is also an open mode allowing you to create your own Qbics without any limitation, a very fun mode for the little ones.
Without being transcendent, Qbics Paint offers a cute experience suitable for the little ones. Accessible for very young children (the title is PEGI 3), it will appeal to young children with a creative mind. On the other hand, let's be clear, the game is not of great interest to adults, we are not the target! In the end, I only regret the impossibility of using my own photos to place the animal, I would have liked to be able to put it in my house! But the very low price, 4,99 €, quickly makes you forget this lack which disappears in the voxels.
