Developers from Mojang Studios and Black Bird Interactive wanted to expand the Minecraft game universe by bringing a good dose of adventure and strategy. Discover Minecraft Legends with me, thanks to a short presentation held in the depths of the gamescom business area, on the Xbox booth. On the menu: a campaign mode with several levels of difficulty, a versus mode and challenges to complete. There will also be an online store, although its content is not yet well defined.

The game starts with choosing our hero from a large number. Even if it is purely cosmetic, it brings a welcome touch of personalization. The story is quite... unexpected. The player embodies a hero who goes to fight evil pigs from the lower world. During the demo, our hero on his proud steed gallops and finds himself facing a castle. You should know that each player finds himself in a unique procedurally generated world. Towers, lava, and a portal through which the weapon pigs enter. In order to help us in our mission; a blue bird comes to support us by collecting the materials for us in a defined area.
It's time to raise an army to put an end to this invasion!
By climbing on the cliff near this castle, we benefit from a better overview of the enemy forces present, and we can thus define an attack strategy. We start by creating a base, which can also serve as a reappearance or travel point. Then, we build buildings for the creation of our golems and ballistae. Once the army is raised, a bridge is created over the lava in order to pass the troops. One of the towers is destroyed. Then comes the turn of the next one. And the demo is already over! Incidentally, the game teaches us that resources such as "speed wheat" allow you to move faster. Likewise, bouncing mushrooms take you higher.
During a short discussion with the developers, we were able to learn that the amount of troops that we can manage depends on the level of our hero. But also that the life of the game will be at least nine to ten hours for the campaign mode. The game will be released in 2023 on Game Pass and PC... An adventure in the world of Minecraft that will satisfy all fans of the license, in a different way from the iconic construction game.
