When unpacking the helmet, you immediately notice something simple and effective. One headset, two jack cables (single or dual headset/mic) depending on what you need. Once on the head, the helmet is pleasant with its velvet parts that caress the skin of our ears and prevent the imitation leather that surrounds it from overheating the whole thing. Quite light in itself, the Epos H3 is really interesting for those who don't like having a mastodon on their skull, even if the weight is mainly supported by our ears.
In terms of design, I received the white version which is aesthetically refined and goes to the essentials. Fairly simple in design, we forget the RGB that can be seen on many models, which gives it a certain charm.
In the facts...
After this appetizer, we will now talk about the main thing, ie the way it behaves at the sound level. First thing extremely pleasant, the Epos H3 offers really good sound insulation, which will mask the small unwanted noises of everyday life. A real plus that will restore even better the sounds that are well transmitted by the headphones in question, despite a small problem with the bass that you really don't feel enough, which can sometimes break the immersion a little during a game with this kind of criterion (like repeated explosions). But as far as the rest is concerned, the sound is very clear, without any faults... it's really what you expect from headphones!
Now let's talk about the other side: the microphone. After several tests, and feedback following conversations, several points appear: the voice is perfectly well captured, and we really feel the effort made on it, but we must take into account the fact that we capture also many everyday noises. That we hear his majesty the cat meowing because he does not have my attention is a bit embarrassing, when he is not really next to me! This comes from the fact that the microphone is bidirectional: it allows a good recording, but risks being a bit annoying in noisy environments.

Although there are no frills, no USB cable or integrated sound card, the headset has some small additions giving it that little something that will make the difference. You would think that the microphone, which is not removable more than that, would be a problem, but no, because it has its own functionality: if you raise the microphone enough until it "clicks"... the microphone switches off automatically. quite handy when you want to cut it quickly.
Another feature: the volume control wheel on the right ear. Discreet and yet useful, this plastic wheel allows you to adjust the output volume just as quickly. However, I have some doubts about its solidity, especially in the long term...
Summary
In conclusion, I think the Epos H3 is a pretty clean and functional headset. Its no-frills charm and classicism in style as well as functionality make it a contender for other tenors in this price range. Although some points are a bit damaging, it is still a very good choice for those who want quality without a filter. It can be easily found on the official website for the sum of 119€.
