Devilian – Guide : Les Artefacts

We have previously explored the Talismans system, now let's focus on the Artefact system through the following different sections:

Devilian – Guide : Les Artefacts

Presentation

These are upgrades that can be inserted into certain pieces of equipment. Artifacts each have a characteristic and each type is identified by a color. Each type of artifact has a corresponding piece of equipment and vice versa. It is therefore impossible to equip the same type of artifact twice on the same character. Here are the correspondences between color / equipment / statistics:

  • Alon's Mercy: Artifact Violet. Location: Chest. Statistics: Max life
  • Courage d'Alon : Artefact Red wine. Location Poor. Statistics: Magic or Physical Attack
  • Alon Insight: Artifact Green. Location: cuffs. Statistics: perforation.
  • Alon's Presence of Spirit: Artifact Yellow. Location: Shoes. Statistics: dodge.
  • Concentration d'Alon : Artefact Blue. Location: Gloves. Statistics: Critical Magic or Critical Physical Attack

Common grade artifacts are better than partial grade artifacts and this is the highest level of quality that can be crafted.

Build an artifact

The item building menu opens from the inventory menu via the fourth button.

There are two buildable artifact quality levels. The first is the level of partial quality (green color) and the second is the level of common quality (color blue). To build an artifact, you will need to collect Gems of adequate rank. For partial artefacts you will need 5 tier 1 gems and for common artefacts you will need 5 tier 2 gems. Depending on the type of artefact you want to build, you will need to collect different colored gems. Indeed, you can only build a Yellow artifact with Yellow gems. Here are the construction plans of the partial artefacts:

Finally, you will have noticed in the images, the artifacts have a manufacturing cost of 100 pieces of silver in addition to the required materials.

Editor's tip: Don't bother building the partial artifacts. It is possible to mount them in blue quality later, but the cost in gem is much higher than directly building a common quality artifact.

Equip an artifact

Once you've built your artifact, you need to equip it. Nothing could be simpler: just slide the artifact onto the equipment that corresponds to it and you're done. But what if you later change equipment for a better one?

Rest assured right away your equipped artifact can be removed and re-equipped on the new room. To do this, go to a "Provider", a general merchant marked with a red potion, and buy the artefact extractor for 67 silver pieces.

Devilian – Guide : Les Artefacts

This extractor is activated by a right click and you just have to select the part from which you want to remove the artifact. Both the original part and the artifact are preserved but the extractor is consumed. It is therefore advisable not to change your part artifacts too often because otherwise it may quickly become expensive.

Upgrade an artifact

As soon as you get an artifact, you can upgrade it. For this you will need saved of different qualities depending on the level of improvement already acquired in the artefact and Alon's tears to Ael's tears. Here is the distribution of artifact levels according to the gems used:

  • Save G1: artifact levels +0 to +2 of partial artifacts.
  • Save G2: artifact levels +3 to +5 for partial artifacts or +0 to +2 for common artifacts.
  • Save G3: levels +3 to +5 of common artifacts.
  • Save G4: levels +6 to +8 of common artifacts.
  • Save G5: levels +9 to +14 of common artifacts.

And then the secondary materials necessary for each use:

  • Alon's Tears (partial) : artifact levels +0 to +2.
  • Alon's Tears: artifact levels +3 to +5 for partial artifacts or +3 to +8 for common artifacts
  • Alon's Tear (pure): artifact levels +9 to +14.
  • Tear of Ael: artifact levels +0 to +8
  • Tear of Ael (pure): artifact levels +9 to +14

It is possible to choose the secondary material used. Ael's tears are overall better and guarantee more experience, but they are rarer. You can find them from Asperon's Mysterious Merchant Luna (near the central fountain) for various amounts of Archicorindon (which you earn as rewards from Daily Challenges, the Torment Tower, or certain reward boxes). You will find Alon's Tears from the Provisioners for silver coins or in some quest rewards or even in dungeons.

The upgrade menu is available via the third button at the bottom of the inventory or simply by right clicking on an artifact. Then drag the artifact or the part on which it is equipped in the corresponding menu and select the secondary material adapted to your need then launch the process which costs 200 silver coins for each iteration. Here is an example of this empty menu then with an equipped artifact and the list of required materials.

Awaken or Convert an Artifact

Artifacts have buff that can be increased. By default, partial artifacts cannot evolve above rank +5 and commons above +9. To pass this limit you will need to convert or awaken the artifact. But why two different names?

The conversion only affects partial artifacts of rank 4 or higher and turns them into a common artifact. There is a loss of artifact level in the process. For example a partial artifact +4 will pass common +2 after conversion. The bonuses granted could remain the same as a result of the quality change that takes place. A partial artifact +0 or greater of the same type as the first is required to convert an artifact. This second artifact will be destroyed.

Awakening only affects Tier 9 Common Artifacts. The process allows the Artifact to rise above and up to level +14. At least one G5 gem and one Alon's teardrop are required in the process. Devilian – Guide : Les Artefacts

You cannot use these functions anywhere. You will absolutely have to go to Asperon in the south-east of the map near the forge. The left blacksmith in the image above allows awakening and the right one allows conversion.

Editor's tip: It is not interesting to make the partial artifacts and level them up. Start immediately with the blue ones when you have the adequate level, you will gain some gems and other components.
