Since its release in 2017, Destiny 2 has continued to expand, to such an extent that the publisher deems it necessary to remove content from its game as new features arrive so as not to lose newcomers along the way! It must be said that with 4 extensions on the clock and 4 times as many seasons, the studio has not been idle to keep its faithful followers in suspense. Having played just a few months ago (via the event accompanying Bungie's 30th anniversary), I was able to immerse myself in the universe of the title without too much difficulty - for once - in order to discover the extension The Witch Queen, and it was fun!
The start of the expansion takes place on Mars!
First of all, it seems important to me to specify that it is difficult to understand the expansion for a newcomer, or even for players who play a little bit by bit. Destiny 2 is a persistent universe, which evolves with the seasons and continues to tell its little stories whether you are present or not. If you decide on a whim to get the extension to start the adventure, hang in there. By its construction, the work of Bungie does not give gifts to newcomers, even if we note a slight improvement with the possibility of directly attacking the frame of The Witch Queen, without being too lost in the face of the anthologies of activities present on the celestial map.
It will take you about 8 hours to complete the main story of this fourth expansion. Given the price, one may be tempted to raise an eyebrow, but that's not counting all the perks of the title. By the way, I'm only talking about the classic mode here... the studio is now offering a legendary campaign... the same story, but with a tougher challenge, enemy modifiers and greater enemy aggression. The loot has been adapted accordingly, and completing the campaign in this mode grants a full set of armor to reach 1520 power. In terms of the diversity of activities, PvP players will remain a little unsatisfied during this season 16... PvE level on the other hand, difficult to sulk his pleasure. In addition to the possibility of forging one's own weapons, we will appreciate the new quests which bring a little freshness, even if we deplore the structure seen and reviewed of these last... At each rallying point, we know that we are left to smash monsters for 5 minutes in the same area, with relatively poor diversity on how to complete an objective. New assaults and a new raid are also in the game.
The world of Savathun is a feast for the eyes!
Following the title in a piecemeal way, I confess to not being very aware of the complete story that surrounds Destiny... What I do know, on the other hand, is that we ask ourselves a number of questions but that we often have few answers. In this, the extension proves to be quite up to par, in addition to yet another rescue of the human race, we learn a lot about the universe (not enough, however, for me to stop scratching my head when I see certain protagonists appearing out of nowhere ) and we often widen our eyes in front of the beauty of the environments visited!
Even if technically, the game hasn't impressed for a long time, artistically, we clearly can't say the same. The artists at Bungie have always had a crazy talent for offering us magnificent panoramas, and The Witch Queen is no exception to the rule. The world of Savathûn is wonderful, there are no other words, the choice of colors and the general architecture of the place personally amazed me and gave me a real breath of fresh air between the heavy darkness of the Hive and the greenish swamp adjoining the fortress.

For the first time in 5 years, I want to continue playing Destiny 2 for anything other than his campaign. The atmosphere certainly has a lot to do with it, but I found the adventure enjoyable and I enjoyed completing various attacks to peacefully raise my level of light and progress my season pass. If I find a few sidekicks to do raiding and other non-matchmaking activities with, I'm sure I'll be putting a lot of hours into it over the next few months.
