Classes and combat
Update 1.2 brings a significant number of changes and improvements to the general class balance and combat mechanics in PvP and PvE based on feedback from players and guilds, test groups and over two months. of combat interaction data from our servers. Our overall goal is, as always, to create a level playing field for our players while ensuring that classes maintain their unique playstyles and identities.
These changes are not limited to class powers and skill trees, but also include changes to the underlying math that governs fights (such as diminishing returns, availability of additional increases, etc.) whose impact is difficult to transcribe into patch notes.
Since these changes involve a significant number of skill changes for many classes, we are offering a free reset to affected advanced classes so players can adjust their training point distribution as they see fit taking the changes into account. As a reminder, players can reset the training points of any character in their fleet's combat training area for free once a week (additional resets are chargeable).
Based on community feedback, we've also made a number of improvements to combat mechanics, such as more responsive animations for certain powers, better visual and sound cues for important effects, and comfort changes. such as more useful combat resurrection abilities.
For players interested in the details of combat mechanics and optimizing their own character, we have added a combat log feature located on the hard drive that can provide you with a deeper insight into what happens during your battles. .

- Visual effects for player persistent ground attacks now reflect area of effect more accurately.
- “Rest” skills, such as Meditate and Recharge, are no longer interrupted when the player takes damage while not in combat.
- The visualization of the movements of players with lower performance machines has been improved.
- Training dummies have been added. Training dummies for level 50 are present on the Gav Daragon and the Shadow of Ziost. Those for levels 20, 30 and 40 can be found on Coruscant and Dromund Kaas. Those for levels 10 can be found on the home worlds.

- Fixed issues with line of sight ("unable to see target") in several areas.
- Fixed an issue that could prevent ambidextrous handling effects from appearing correctly.
- Players are now stunned for a short time if they get knocked off their mounts by damage (instead of seeing a falling animation).

- The “Combat Log” section in the preferences menu also allows players to send all combat information produced by or directed to their characters to a computer scannable file (which contains a computer scannable file). When this option is enabled, a dated interaction log will be produced periodically in the Star Wars - The Old Republic Combat Logs file in the My Documents directory. Warning: This is an advanced feature. Constantly producing a battle log can take up a lot of hard drive space, and players will likely need to delete old reports on a regular basis.
