Less than a month away from the release of Gotham Knights, I felt like getting into the Dark Knight mood by accepting to receive at home a toy from the Spin Master brand, Batman and his Batmobile .
No additional useless plastic, the Batmobile is directly hung on its support. Only Batman benefits from a light transparent shell. Unpacking is relatively easy, although you have to take off a panel on the back to access the plastic hooks that hold the vehicle in place. Needless to say, a child is not ready to succeed in recovering his toy!
The figurine measures about thirty centimeters, in hard plastic. Eleven points of articulation create different poses: shoulder, elbow, hands, leg (hip), knee, and head. The only place that could be missing is ultimately at the level of the feet, even if this is undoubtedly a design choice to ensure a good seat for the character, who is indeed standing without difficulty thanks to his big black boots.
His cape is in fabric, in a slightly plastic material. It's sturdy, it folds up easily, and it fits nicely on Batman's back. Even if it's not very pleasant to the touch (it's not "soft" like real fabric could be). It is attached very solidly at the shoulders, with a wide protection that goes up around the neck, up to the characteristic mask.
His armor is one piece, in a shiny dark gray plastic, and black reinforced parts, like the top of the boots (at the knees) and the gloves. The belt is golden. Another hint of color on the front of the gloves, as opposed to these sorts of defensive studs added to the back of the arms. Finally, of course, on his chest, the symbol of Batman, enhanced with a fine golden thread.
The Batmobile is made of hard plastic, which does not deform easily, including the top part. A wire attaches the hood to the rest of the vehicle to prevent loss. It also offers an easy opening, without a hinge that could warp or break.
On the edges of the Batmobile, different details, with more or less detailed parts, stylizing bodywork effects. The wheels are huge, suitable for all terrain. No tires strictly speaking, rather rims, which should withstand quite a few journeys. On the other hand, it is inevitably a little noisy, without damping of the rubber.
Batman enters the vehicle while lying down. No steering wheel or other visible interface that could explain how he drives his car. We will say that it is by thought! It's nice in the context of the game. And it's practical because it offers a very practical storage.
Sold around forty euros, this toy is part of a set of other Spin Master projects, with other characters, and alternative versions of Batman (where he wears a costume from another era).
