Sony – 65A75K TV

Sony sent us a 65-inch TV from its new A75K OLED series. A new product that is part of the expansion of the Bravia range, with two new ranges, the A90K and therefore the A75K.

Let's start with the assembly. This one goes off without a hitch. The feet click into place with a clip, so no need for any screwdriver to pair the screen. When installed, the screen is a total of 83,6 cm high, 144,8 cm wide and 33,8 cm deep. For a weight of 24.2 kilos (with feet). This beautiful baby still weighs 22,9 kilos without it. Needless to say, to hang it on the wall, a 300 x 300 VESA mount will be required (as well as a very solid wall).

In terms of connectivity, the screen is equipped with 4 HDMI ports, two of which are in version 2.1. Owners of both current-gen consoles, Xbox Series X and Playstation 5, will finally be able to connect their two machines without having to buy anything else. It also has two USB ports, an optical audio port, a LAN port, Wifi and Bluetooth. Finally, there is a dual DTT and Satellite tuner integrated in addition to the CI+ port.

(we say hello to the cat on the way)

The configuration of the television is done via the mobile, as on previous models. This is in particular due to the fact that the software is based on the operating system of Google. The updates of the television, the remote control, the applications, the configuration of the accounts on it follow one another... Despite the daunting side of the manipulation, the remote control is pleasant. Despite everything, I've always had a preference for a more sober design, such as what Samsung offers. In addition, this remote control does not have a backlight. With so many buttons, the beginnings are not easy, especially in the total darkness offered by the OLED!

Sony televisions are always equipped with image processing electronics that give very good results. As well as specific modes, such as the "Netflix Adaptive Calibrated" which adjusts the image processing according to the ambient light. Or the "Perfect for Playstation 5" which automatically manages HDR and variable refresh rate adjustment (on HDMI ports 3 and 4). It is possible to broadcast directly to the TV, which automatically integrates Chromecast and Apple AirPlay.

The audio is not outdone with its four 10 W speakers. All the technologies are present: Dolby ATMOS, DTS and Dolby Audio.

Among the major innovations brought by this range, the addition of a camera on the lower central part of the television set in order to identify the position of the spectators and to adapt the sound and the video. As such, Sony has also added gesture controls functionality and video chat.

I tested Bravia Core, and I liked it! The image is clean, bright, commensurate with the high quality of the panel. No lag, crashes, or even zone pixelation... Even without an audio system or sound bar connected, the result is stunning. For a moment, I forgot it was streaming. Currently, the catalog offers 127 films in iMAX or iMAX Enhanced. So certainly, it is not up to Netflix, for example. But the quality! The quality ! Knowing that creating a Bravia Core account offers five credits, I only used two to get Spider-Man: No Way Home and First Contact. You should know that for any purchase of an A75K, you will receive one year of unlimited streaming on old Sony Pictures films + 5 credits to download the most recent ones such as Spider-Man NWH or Uncharted. Subsequently, however, an additional budget will have to be provided for buying or renting films.
