Lost Ark allows us to choose between 7 classes. Some of them have one or more specializations.
In this article, we are going to take a look at these classes and their characteristics so that you can choose the one that suits you best when you start the game.
Note that all classes are gendered. It will therefore not be possible to choose the gender of your character, it will depend on the class chosen. The Sharpshooter and Martialist classes have been merged together in the article for clarity, but each is split into two in-game (one female and one male).
Guerrier
It is divided into 3 specializations: the Berserker, the Paladin and the Gunslinger.

The Berserker is a melee class, that is, you are on the front line to fight your enemies. Using your swordfish, you inflict powerful damage. When you enter fury mode, with your speed and power increased, you unleash your full power!
Overview of some skills:
- Unleashed Fury: You energize your greatsword to perform a powerful attack.
- Crashing Strike: You propel yourself forward to split the ground.
- Tourbillon: As its name suggests: p.
- Criminal Danger: You leap forward and send your enemies flying.
- Infernal Blade: You plant your weapon in the ground to inflict damage.
My opinion :
This class is fun! You can feel the power with every blow! You have to like melee and hit, but if so, this class will please you!
The Paladin is a melee class, you will also be on the front line. But you will also help your allies by adding shields to them or restoring them to life.
Overview of some skills:
- Judgment of Alythanos: Cast holy light as you leap into the air, damaging enemies and shielding allies.
- Divine Wrath: Lightnings that come from the sky to slay your enemies!
- Reign of Justice: Big circular attack.
- Divine Law: Circle of divine light that damages enemies for 2 seconds.
- Flash Laceration: You slash your enemies 7 times.
My opinion :
What would an MMO be without a paladin? Lost Ark is no exception to the rule. An interesting class for those who like to add shields to their allies.
The Gunslinger is a class that uses its gunslinger to attack its enemies and defend against them. We are there on a good big tank of families.
Overview of some skills:
- Charged Tip: You swing the spear forward.
- Leaping Attack: You jump forward and deal damage when you hit the ground.
- Grapple: You throw a grappling hook that deals damage and pulls enemies towards you.
- Guardian Protection: Recover 100% of your shield and create an aura that shields your allies and damages your enemies.
- Fire Ball: You shoot enemies.
My opinion :
This is the warrior specialization that I liked the most to test. It changes classic tank classes.
Assassin
It is divided into 2 specializations: Warlock and Bloodblade.

The Warlock is a melee attacker who will use her blades to destroy her enemies. And when she unleashes the demon locked inside her, you better not be around.

- Demonic Vision: You concentrate your energy and send a beam on your enemies.
- Sharp Cut: You spin and pierce your enemies.
- Collapsed Ruin: You leap into the air and fire beams at your enemies.
- Demonic Clone: Summon a devil to fight with you.
- Whirling weapon: You can throw your two weapons which will spin towards your enemies.
My opinion :
This is the class that I liked the most! Especially when you go into demonic form and destroy everything in your path!
The Bloodblade uses its three swords and chaos to overcome its enemies. So we are on a melee class.
Overview of some skills:
- Lightning Bolt: You dash in a straight line and knock your enemies into the air, dealing damage.
- Lightning Strike: You spin around and deal damage to your enemies.
- Soul Absorber: Deliver a powerful thrust that deals damage over time.
- Blitz: You inflict damage and knock back your enemies.
- Moon Slash: You deal damage in front of you and pull enemies towards you.
My opinion :
A nice class, but which I liked less compared to the Warlock. If I have to go on an assassin class, it will not be this one.
Martialist
It is divided into 4 specializations: the Essentialist, the Elementist, the Pugilist and the Spiritist.

The Essentialist is a melee class that will use their mastery of martial arts to annihilate their enemies. This is the only specialization available to male Martialists.
Overview of some skills:
- Appearance of the Tiger: You inflict fire damage then launch a final attack upwards.
- True Celestial Awakening: You charge energy and then kick 2 times.
- Rise of the Impetuous Dragon: You jump in the air to send a kick towards the ground, if you press again within 2 seconds, you will also knee.
- Moon Kick: You kick forward and follow with a series of kicks.
- Spinning Kick: Spinning Kick that deals 22 attacks over 2,5 seconds.
My opinion :
Big fan of martial arts, it's a class that I liked. But I don't think I'll play it, preferring another specialization of this class.
The Elementist uses the elements and martial arts to overcome his enemies. So it's a melee class.
Overview of some skills:
- Fist of Domination: You pull enemies towards you with an energy beam and attack them up to 6 times.
- Rise of the Phoenix: You focus energy to fly up and land knocking down and dealing damage.
- Lightning Fang: You land multiple point hits.
- Lightning Kick: You deliver electric kicks.
- Triple fist: Violent forward punches.
My opinion :
This is the class that I liked the least to test. I had no feeling with it. But she will find her audience I'm sure! 🙂
The Pugilist uses her gauntlets to inflict heavy damage on her enemies using two energy sources that will be used together.
Overview of some skills:
- Mysterious Art: Ravaging Blast. You deliver a blow that splits the ground and sends energy that knocks back your enemies.
- Crushing Strike: You send 3 waves forward.
- Invincible Dragon King: You charge energy and inflict damage on your target.
- Destructive Fist: You strike the ground and cause it to shake.
- Capital Punishment: You release energy to push back your enemies and inflict damage.
My opinion :
Nice, but I didn't have a real feeling with her. I'll pass on this one.
The Spiritist is a melee and ranged class. Combine them to inflict powerful damage!
Overview of some skills:
- Annihilation Beam: Charge energy to fire a powerful beam.
- Celestial Crush: A huge palm slams down on the ground to deal damage.
- Magnetic Palm: You leap and deal ground damage and pull enemies towards you.
- Destructive Palm: You move forward while inflicting damage on your enemies.
- Death Finger: You do a back dodge and shoot 6 times with your finger.
My opinion :
One of the classes I preferred to test. Combining distance and close combat. Everything to please me!
Sniper
It is divided into 4 specializations: Fusilier, Gunner, Sniper and Sagittarius.

The Fusilier uses her two rifles to inflict a lot of damage. This is the only specialization available for the Female Sniper.
Overview of some skills:
- Eye of Dusk: You turn your back on your enemy and inflict the eye on them, reducing their movement and attack speed. Then you deal damage to it.
- Last wishes: You fire an explosive bullet.
- Plasma Bullet: Fire a plasma bullet that deals continuous damage.
- Peacekeeper: Combo burst shots followed by a kick.
- Judgment Hour: You fire 3 balls in a cone. On impact, the bullets fragment.
My opinion :
A fun class, not much else to say. I had fun playing it.
The Gunner uses his heavy weapon to inflict very heavy damage.
Overview of some skills:
- Projectile Barrage: You fire 20 rockets.
- Buckshot: An explosion in a cone in front of you.
- Flamethrower: As the name suggests 😀
- Gatling: You fire your machine gun.
- Napalm Shot: You fire a napalm missile.
My opinion :
What a foot! It's enjoyable! We feel the power of each attack. I recommend ! :p
The Sniper uses 3 different weapons to attack his enemies.
Overview of some skills:
- Devastating Salvo: Summon a big gun and fire 3 times.
- Meteor Fall: You shoot bullets in the air that will land on your enemies.
- Flaming Spiral: Fire a flaming bullet that sends enemies flying.
- Rapid Shotgun Fire: You fire 3 shotgun bullets.
- Fire of Death: Salvages of bullets on all enemies around you.
My opinion :
Simple and effective class. Small originality, it is possible to switch on the fly from two pistols to a shotgun and a sniper rifle, the skills varying according to the weapon chosen.
Sagittarius uses his mechanical bow and arrows to deal damage to his enemies.
Overview of some skills:
- Golden Eye: 4 golden hawks that spin and create a tornado.
- Rain of Arrows: Fire arrows in the air that swoop down on enemies on the ground.
- Wave of Arrows: An arrow that spins towards enemies.
- Bladestorm: You throw 6 blades.
- Charged Shot: The more you charge, the more damage you deal.
My opinion :
The Hawkeye from Lost Ark. He doesn't invent anything but does the work.
Mage
It is divided into 2 specializations: the Bard and the Sorceress.
- Bard
- Witch
The Bard uses her harp to heal her allies and inflict damage on her enemies.
Overview of some skills:
- Oratorio: You play the harp and inflict holy damage.
- Stigma: You cast a stigma that inflicts up to 5 attacks on enemies.
- Rhythmic Buckshot: Your harp sends out a musical note that deals damage and pushes back.
- Celestial Melody: You inflict damage and increase your allies' MP regeneration and attack speed.
- Prelude of the Storm: You summon a storm that inflicts damage and immobilizes your enemies.
My opinion :
No big feeling about this class, even if I like to play healer / support. I don't have much to say. But I'm sure it will appeal to players.
The Witch uses the magic of 3 elements to inflict very heavy damage on her enemies.
Overview of some skills:
- Incinerate: You send meteor fragments.
- Frost Blast: Throw ice at your enemies, lowering their attack and movement speed.
- Ice Arrow: You pierce your enemies with ice arrows.
- Lightning Fury: Send lightning bolts to your enemies.
- Judgment Day: A meteorite comes to destroy your enemies.
My opinion :
This is the first class I tested. We feel the power of the shots, it's very pleasant. One of the classes that will be played the most, I'm sure.
