There are often plenty of announcements about League of Legends due to the immense popularity the game enjoys, but this one in particular stands out for the champion it is the subject of: Trundle the Cursed Troll.
The redesign in detail
First of all, one can wonder about the why and how of a revamp with regard to a champion and it must be said that Trundle meets enough conditions to be priority over his companions. Here is a non-exhaustive list of the parameters that fully justify this overhaul:
- Trundle has never been a top level champion
- He is the sixth character with the worst win / loss ratio (43,3%)
- Trundle never received any changes (except for -10 mana on his first spell and bug fixes)
- Released for more than 2 years, he is the only champion so old not to have received any skin afterwards.
- Trundle suffers from a number of issues due to the length of his spell animations
- He is the fifth least played character of the game being present about one game in a hundred (precisely 1,08%)
- Trundle's appearance is a factor in his unpopularity

Trundle is accompanying his new design with a redesign of his personal history and as such reinforces the history of Freljord decidedly very much in the spotlight lately as we had already seen in our previous article on League of Legends. Much more massive than originally, Trundle tends to represent a more classic, powerful and aggressive troll.
A classic skin will be offered for free to Trundle owners when these changes are uploaded. The classic skin has also been reworked to match this imposing new appearance.
A controversial ad?
Two things are currently being debated within the community. First of all, some of the players find it a shame to change the story linked to Trundle, one of the most original and interesting in the league. His changed appearance as a result is heavily criticized by Trundle fans. It becomes more imposing, more classic as a troll which affects its originality. Note, however, that these changes are intended to make the champion popular and originality is not necessarily the best way to achieve this if we refer to the statistics.
The second reason is funny: many players do not believe in these changes (partly because the gif in question shown at the beginning of the article was not taken seriously, it must be said that it was presented humorously by Morello, the Lead Game Designer) and see in this redesign the April XNUMX joke from Riot Games. Even if there is a possibility, let's not forget that Zac was subject to the same charges a short time ago!
Can we finally expect changes in the champion's gameplay?
More than expected, it is a certainty. But it will be more improvements than a real overhaul like the recent modifications of Taric. Considering how long it took for Riot to take a look at the league's most forgotten champion, it's very likely that these changes are really interesting and that Trundle will quickly become a most useful champion. These changes should soon be available on the test server for player review.
Do you like Trundle? How are you enjoying this change in appearance?
