Two games, presented by Plaion (formerly Koch Media) with its Prime Matter label, particularly attracted me. The first, The Last Oricru, developed by GoldKnight, and the second, Gungrave GORE developed by Iggymob. Here is an overview of these two games.
The Last Oriccru
This action RPG offers you a world of SF, where technology and fantasy intertwine, with many narrative choices that will largely condition the outline of the story and the way the NPCs will interact with you. Playable solo or in cooperation, this game will allow you to specialize in different classes including spells exclusive to duo play.
Graphically very successful, you will be entitled to very successful environments during this war between the two races of this world. You will have to manage a lot of things during your adventure. Whether it's your equipment, your level, you will have to make sure to find your style of play. Because before you get there, you will die... often... very often. Far from being obvious, you will realize that this game is demanding, violent and will require you to master your character against ever more powerful bosses. But your weapons and armor will also have something to boost you during fights with really interesting effects, such as a shield that reflects fire attacks, a blade that inflicts elemental damage, or simply as a mage, ever more devastating spells .
The soundscape is very successful and is almost always right, sticking perfectly with the not perfect visual effects but which do the job. In itself, this game that I was able to test for fifteen minutes has a lot of quality to be really good, with a scenario that pushes for really high replayability and a mastered technique, but it lacks, for the moment, the little something that would make it unforgettable. Gungrave GORE
Friends of violence, you have come across the right game. Inspired by the anime "Gungrave", you will embody the main character: Grave, a betrayed fighter, returned from beyond the grave. Your goal? Eliminate all the vermin lying around with your weapons of extraordinary power and style. Your infinite ammo weapons will be your main weapons while a range of blows will help you defeat the horde of thugs who will try to get between you and your objective.
Summary execution, projectile return, melee blows, human shield or insane attack, you will spill liters of blood in what promises to be a nameless butchery, but always with a crazy class! Because yes, the game wants to be technical in its combos and its stylized shots and will require good rigor from you to execute them without too many sores.
During the 12 hours of games that await you, you will be able to use ultimate attacks that are ultra powerful and excessively visual. During the fight against the boss of the level that I tested, it was so effective that it offered me almost no resistance. The hardest part was getting to him by following the tutorial.
In itself, this game will require little finesse but a lot of technique to give the maximum of its potential. If you like violent games that knock everything out, you'll find what you're looking for, for others... it might be difficult to adapt to the style. On the other hand, we always stay in the spirit of the anime, and that's really cool! Release scheduled for November 22, 2022.
Conclusion
These two games at Plaion make me want to test them in detail to see their potential. However, they will surely pass after certain licenses which caught my eye a lot more during this gamescom. But we are never safe from a good surprise and maybe they can become potential future hits!
