As a family, I had the opportunity to discover Frog Climbers, a party game where we play mountaineering frogs!
At the start of the game, there is no real choice of mode: forward to play!
Then it's time to choose your frog. A little friend's advice: choose different colors!
Three possibilities on the cards side: the classic, the difficult and the wheels. Overall, they are in order of difficulty, so I advise you to go for the classic first, just to familiarize yourself with the controls.
There are finally a few mods to make matters worse: one arm, hot hands (you can't stay tied for long), base gravity, and king of the hill.
Now is the time to get started! The games always start with a short tutorial during which the frogs are tied to a rope. The opportunity for new players to get started if there are beginners in the assembly. Then once all the competitors are on the starting line, let's go!
The controls are not obvious at the beginning because you have to be coordinated ... and that's not my forte. In fact, the controller is like "cut" in half. On the left, it is the left hand, on the right the right hand. For each we have the trigger for catching and the joystick for steering. It is therefore necessary to chain the commands: I grab the grip with the trigger D, I release my other hand L, I raise the hand R by going downwards with the joystick R, I direct my other arm with the joystick L, j '' grab the grip with the trigger L, I let go of my other hand R, I raise the arm with the joystick D, then I grab the grip with the trigger D ...
The fall is not punitive, the frog automatically jumps after a few seconds, the player to succeed in catching a hold, or it is good to wait for it to disappear again from the screen and jump. If there are any latecomers, a nice ladybug appears at the bottom of the screen with a catch to pull up the lagging frog.
And the goal is simple: to be the first at the top!
There is also a small single player mode offering to climb the wall as quickly as possible to oppose all the other players of Frog Climbers. I'm quite proud of my 12th place!
To test one evening with friends, Frog Climbers is an unpretentious little game that offers a good moment of relaxation. The handling is not easy, which promises even more giggles! In addition, the game is available at a very low price (and even less due to the launch):
