VR player for several years now, I continue to discover with undisguised pleasure what the studios can offer us. This time I tried my hand at "Draw IT!", a small game where you have to guide a ball from one place to another using a joystick, while drawing small elements so that the ball can cross an obstacle.
We will go back to the level of originality, since it is enough to open the store of any smartphone to find games of this ilk! However, in virtual reality, it does not (yet) run the streets, and we feel that there is potential for other products of this style. However, DrimEnt Studio's game is not free from flaws... First of all, Draw IT! is ugly, very ugly. He opts for a penciled black and white style that gave me a headache after only a few minutes. The objects arranged here and there are not left out, and the fact of being able to draw everywhere makes the game even more ugly than at the base. So yes, it's a fact, I'm a poor artist, and this game only reinforces this thought, but all the same, the lines that we can draw are systematically of a garish color, and are quite coarse. We can certainly choose the color, but not the thickness of the lines, and we therefore end up with lines as thick as a Morteau sausage. Not folichon.
Side grip, it's quite curious. Moving the objects turns out to be quite easy, we pinch, we move, we release. Moving the ball with the ease of the joystick will take a few minutes to get used to and, to draw, you will need to be patient to make convincing lines and get a decent score (the more you draw, the less you will earn mission points). The main mode is, what's more, light in content, since we don't even reach ten puzzles. Everything is completed in 1 hour, and then you will have to fall back on the Sandbox world... which allows you to draw, without a score this time. So.
Clearly, Draw IT! is one of the low budget games, and the studio has the merit of selling its title at the very low price of €2,39. It's worth saying, however, that the content looks more like a demo for a potential future title, rather than a full title. To see what DrimEnt Studio has in store for us in the future. A game of this ilk, with more means, better longevity and a more polished overall aesthetic could prove to be very pleasant.
