If you've done quests on the Isle of Thunder, you may have already found a Shan'ze Ritual Stone by killing Rare or opening chests. An update on how to get them, the quests and the bosses you can kill with them!
Where are these stones?
There are many means and all linked to the Isle of Tonnerre:
- by killing the rare bosses I mentioned here (once a week)
- by completing the ultimate daily quest that rewards either an arcane treasure or a sack of sunshine that sometimes contains it (once a day)
- by searching chests (mogu chest and golden chest or the Thunder King's treasure at the end) in the treasure room of Lei Shen's Palace (thanks to the key obtained once a week)
- by searching for a treasure of the Thunder King, hidden somewhere on the island (once a week)
- by carrying out the quest pieces of chamberlain (once a week)

Perfect Bashiok sourceJust to clarify on drop chances for ritual stones and keys, you can only obtain one Key to the Palace of Lei Shen (aka treasure room) from any creature on the island, including the Isle of Thunder Rare Elites. Once you’ve already looted one off of a creature, no more will drop from creatures for your character that week. Additional keys can potentially drop from other select sources, but are extremely rare and not something you can try to farm.
Similarly, you can only obtain one Shan’ze Ritual Stone from an Isle of Thunder Rare Elite per week. You'll still be able to collect more from other sources, though.

Initial quest
The first time we go near the entrance to the raid (Morne Hollow) with the quest for allies in the shadows (horde / alliance), Taran Zhu gives us a quest that explains how these stones work: secrets about the Isle of Thunder. We must therefore collect 3 stones for him.
By returning the quest, Taran Zhu gives us back our stones and gives us the follow-up, Set the trap. This quest is to be done with 4 other players and asks to kill the Echo of Kros, a big ghostly dinosaur. When the appetizing saurok appears, it must be killed quickly to prevent Kros Echo from finishing his lunch and regaining health (devour). The healer must beware of Kros' rage at the death of the saurok. Last tip: whenever possible, interrupt the vile roar. This boss has a chance to drop an Epic Casting Dagger (Saurok Ritualist's Sacrificial Dagger).
Weekly Quest
After completing the quest for secrets on the Isle of Thunder, Taran Zhu gives a quest every week, with the Thunder King Champions (horde / alliance) asking to summon one Spirit of each type, rewarding 150 Valor points . According to the achievement it was worth every Ritual Stone spent, there are 9 bosses to summon. Each boss has a chance to drop an epic iLvl 476 weapon.
