As the subject was raised during the last livestream, Eric brings us some news about the changes made to crew skills and buildable equipment during KotET.

Hi everybody,
As we talked about lately, one of our goals is for crafting to be a mechanic where everyone can temporarily equip, equip a friend, or equip for an alternate specialization. When KotET launches, you'll find new material grades and higher-level items that you can teach blueprints to at Garment Merchants. For high level content, the will is that you can build items with a reduced index of 2 compared to tier equipment obtainable in operations, but without set bonuses. The only exception will be tier 1 where you can build equipment of the same quality. Any equipment you build using this method will be unmodifiable, meaning you won't be able to move armor, mods, and sophistication. However, it will still be possible to build these objects individually of the same level as these objects.
If this is somewhat confusing, here is an example with current values:
We can get the following level items on operations:
- Tier 1 - 216 with set bonus
- Tier 2 - 220 with set bonus
- Tier 3 - 224 with set bonus
With the system that will be put in place, we could then manufacture the following level objects:
- Tier 1 - 216 without set bonus
- Tier 2 - 218 without set bonus
- Tier 3 - 222 without set bonus
This including modules, shields and sophistication.
Let's talk a bit about how to get their blueprints.
Equipment: You will learn the blueprints in the command boxes. Example: You will get Tier 1 building blueprints from third party command boxes 1. These items will require Conquest materials to craft them.
Mods: You can find these blueprints by reverse engineering mods from any source, in PvP, or loot Operation Bosses. These blueprints will need materials from PvP or op bosses.
This is only a brief summary of how it will work and feel free to ask any questions.
