Today, I offer you a comparison between a wireless controller from HyperX, the Clutch Wireless, versus a wired Xbox controller model that I like to use. So different budget and also different ambition, because one is made for the PC, and the other works as well on PC, although more Android oriented.
The material itself
When you take the controller in hand, you feel quite pleasant thanks to a clean texture that will prevent your fingers from slipping, especially with these temperatures which make your hands sweaty quickly. Ditto for the joysticks which offer a pleasant and functional feeling.
With a united directional cross, and an identical layout, players who are used to Xbox controllers will clearly not be out of place and will find their way around easily. The only differences come from the Turbo button which will be used for repeated pressures quickly and the triggers which are wider, a little mixed with the PlayStation style, which is far from being a bad thing. We will find the charging LED of the integrated 600mAh battery which will be useful for us to know when to plug in (USB-C) and when to return to 2.4Ghz mode (with the receiver included) or to Bluetooth mode, which will be more able to be practical with Android mobiles. However, even though it can be used on PC and Android, Apple products seem to be forgotten.
The included tool for mobiles is quite accomplished on its own and offers a good grip for the phone, as well as being wide enough to take an extended range. Even if I have some doubts about the longevity of the latter with intensive and brutal use at the level of the extensible tongue, I think that with a minimum of care, we should be quiet. Moreover, the significant weight of the handles makes it possible to largely compensate for the weight of most telephones and therefore not to inadvertently tilt the whole thing forward.
Stake
The controller works independently without third-party software that would intervene. This means that everything will go simply, but we will not necessarily be able to modify everything at will. For the rest, it's very responsive and has nothing to envy to the wired models on most PC games, except once when I personally had a problem on an old generation game (Metal Slug 2) in which a Half second latency appeared during a game session. Problem with the game or the controller? no idea, but it has never happened again since. On Android, it's fluid and hassle-free, and will become a real asset for all games that lend themselves to it.
Summary
This controller is clearly a must for Android gamers. Reliable, pleasant and frankly affordable, we find everything we ask for in this kind of product. Worry-free passable from PC to your tablet/mobile, I recommend it for that purpose, but if you're just a PC gamer, I think you'll have more choice and might find something more suited to your needs in other products.
