Game universe

At the controls of this new MMO, we find some of the developers of the famous MMO "Old School" Lineage2. It is therefore with a certain assurance that Echo of Soul offers an immense universe: in all, more than fifty maps and regions to explore freely.

To facilitate travel, teleportation portals are made available. Unfortunately, a large number of "mini-portals", whether moving from one region to another or even in a dungeon between two rooms launch small loads which, over time and depending on your equipment, can become very unpleasant.



Side story, nothing very original: the world of EoS was once beautiful and full of life until a war between Gods and Giants broke out bringing death and destruction. The general chaos gave birth to a new form of evil: Corruption of the Shadow Soul. But there is one hope left and that hope is you (like in a lot of games).

Despite this lack of originality, EoS innovates with the Soul system. For each monster killed, you gain a soul fragment that must be purified via a feature accessible directly from the menu (or via a shortcut key). You need 2 soul fragments per purification or collaborate with another player via what is called double purification which only requires one fragment at this time (which is much more advantageous). This purified fragment allows you to trigger a spell (a buff more precisely) to help in combat.

In Echo of Soul, we will find classic MMORPGs:

At level 10, you will be able to choose a specialization in order to obtain more diversity in the classes of your character.

Once one of the kingdom's most powerful fighters, the Warrior is now a feared mercenary by all. The pride that his noble lineage inspires in him pushed him to rally to the cause of the Gods. Capable of devastating attacks, few opponents dare to stand up to him. With his mastery of Fury and flawless defense, he rules all battlefields. Two specializations possible: the Berserker (continuous DPS) and the Sentinel (Tank / OffTank).

Once a member of a nomadic tribe, the fearless Archer has made his bow and melodies invaluable. His murderous arrows, fired at lightning speed, protect his allies from misguided adversaries. Passionate about music, the archer heals her companions with her bewitching songs and improves their skills. Two possible specializations: the Hunter (ranged physical damage) or the Bard (support).

Only an unconscious mind would dare to provoke the Ranger. This cruel, over-trained assassin slices his enemies to pieces with lightning speed. Its methods of elimination, based on pernicious poisons and other lethal toxins, are chilling. The enemy, then powerless, is unable to ward off the coup de grace. Two possible specializations: the Duelist (physical damage in burst) and the Assassin (damage over time).


The Guardian draws her strength from the fierce and volatile energy of nature, communicating with her spirits. Thanks to her lightning spells and telluric attacks, she regains Vitality from her attacks, making her extremely difficult to defeat. She is a great ally in all groups thanks to her Soul Stones with beneficial powers. Two possible specializations: Aeris (damage in area) and Telluris (OffTank).


Don't be fooled by the Witch's innocent look. His spells, often responsible for the worst ignominy, inspire terror in those who cross his path. His mastery of fire and ice leaves little chance of survival for his opponents. Two possible specializations: Pyro (burst magic damage) and Cryo (mass control).

Now that you know the names and roles of all these classes, know that from the moment you choose a specialization (at level 10), you will have to make a choice. Indeed, you will have a skill tree made up of three lines. Each of these lines offers spells with a specific role (damage, resistance ...) and you will have 2 points to put per column. You will therefore only be able to take 2 of the 3 possible spells per level. Examine all the spells carefully because, from the moment you have chosen your first spell (at level 10), the third is lost: it will therefore be impossible to choose a higher level spell in this row! A second system offered by EoS to allow players to give themselves a little originality.

Dungeons (solo or in a group)

For the start of the game, there are 6 single player and group dungeons. It may seem low, but that's without counting on the infinite dungeons which represent the highest difficulty mode. Inside you will find bosses already defeated, stronger and determined to take their revenge!

 

Solo dungeon (solo)

In addition to the many quests, you will also be able to do dungeons without any help. This system has been set up not to be dependent on other players but also to allow you to gain equipment for your class (but it will not necessarily be that of your specialization). You will be able to reset the dungeon you want to loop to get your gear.


 

Group Dungeon

Who says MMORPG, says epic clashes in group (raids)! In Echo of Soul, working as a team remains important even if there are no predefined roles (tank, healer, etc.). Everyone has defense and support through scrolls obtained from merchants or loot from monsters. The biggest raids will go up to 20 players (in future updates).

 

PvP (player vs. player)

Beyond the PvE content that the developers at Nvius claim to be rich, the various PvP battlefields will allow fans of clashes between players to build their character without even touching the PvE mode of the game if they wish.
