Did you miss them? Here they are again! Submarines are making a comeback on ArcheAge, the MMORPG of Trion Worlds, after being seen during the Alpha version of the game. Thanks to these new mounts, players will now be able to dive and discover the depths of Dahuta in complete freedom!
Submarines will be making their new debut with the July 21, 2015 update, so be prepared, intrepid divers!
Please note that these submarines are not ships but mounts similar to Cyanaqua and Fuschiaqua, but beware, the advantage of submarines is that they are customizable! Indeed, they can be equipped with armor, which can make them unique and original.
But how do you make a submarine?
Pretty simple: They can be crafted using Machinists at Carpentry Workbenches, and for 250 Gilda Stars you'll have access to submarine blueprints in the submarine test area on Mirage Island.
As for the materials, you will need Nuro Logging Planks, pieces of Wind Spirit Leather, a Buoyancy Controller, a Strong Handle and Pigments, and of course, a piece of wax. to stick it all together!
They will come in three colors to the delight of decorators: lapis, ruby and platinum.
A submarine can currently carry two people, handy if you're playing with a friend! Another cool feature: Any player aboard a submarine can carry packages, which is handy for moving certain things around while avoiding getting attacked by pirates.
The vehicle will have a base speed of 5.5 m / s, both on the surface and underwater, but this speed can obviously be improved with certain equipment.
Three equipment slots for these mounts, head, waist, and feet, and if you're a Machinist with skill 20.000 or above, you can craft some pieces of gear that you can find below.
- Head
- Size
- feet
- Sonar: to probe at short and medium range
- Air Cannon: Push back enemies at close range by shooting .. well .. air at them.
- Oxygen tank: will allow you to recharge your breath bar, only if you are the pilot.
- Torpedo Cannon: Launches a torpedo at an enemy sea vessel, expends three steel ammo.
- Push Motor: Allows you to accelerate for a limited time, has a medium cooldown
- Reinforced drift: gives you a passive and constant increase in speed
- Giant Drift: Gives you a passive but improved speed boost
As for the fights, same rules as for any mount, on this point nothing changes: it will be difficult for you to attack the adversaries of the same faction.
The usefulness of these new mounts is mainly the fact that you can use them to explore the seabed but more importantly; they allow you to attack your enemy enemies by surprise, and deliver packages safely.
